The world's Minecraft players log hundreds of hours playing Minecraft every day, but there aren't many gamers in China. F-email , Minecraft developer Mojang announced that it is creating a new version of the game specifically for Chinese consumers. Collaboration with Chinese internet company NetEase is what has led to this development and it's the same NetEase which runs games such as World of Warcraft and Hearthstone in China already.

There is no date for release and there is no information on what changes to the core game will be made to cater to the Chinese market. What we do know is the Chinese version will only launch for PC and mobile devices, not consoles, when it finally arrives.

"We are excited about bringing Minecraft to Chinese gamers, as well as expecting our large online community to be awed by the game," William Ding, CEO and founder of NetEase, Inc., stated. We have a solid platform to introduce Minecraft to China's huge user base, thanks to our deep understanding of China and our capability to launch globally-respected mobile and online games.
